Tutorial, Text with Drop Shadow on Photoshop

This is a Photoshop CS5 tutorial. Other versions should be similar, if not the same.
This tutorial introduces you to the text effects tool on Photoshop and teaches you how to create a dropshadow.

1) On Photoshop, click File > New and create a blank file. The size is up to you.
Once you have done that click on the button which is on the sidebar.

2) Now you can change your font and size to whatever is right for you.
To start typing, press anywhere (where you want it) on your blank file to do so. Once this is done and you have finished typing, click the tick button.

  3) If you can see your Layer box, you should be able to see an 'FX' button at the bottom of it. Press this and click on Blending Options.

If you can't see the Layer box, go on Windows - then Layers and make sure the option is ticked.
This should now come up.

This tool definitely is through trial and error, so don't be afraid to toggle with the settings and mess around. You may get unexpected results that you actually like!
I am going to experiment with the Drop Shadows. So click on that to get the options up and tick it.

4) Right now, as you can probably tell, it's not looking too good. So we need to change the settings.

5) This is how I toggled my settings.

These settings have achieved:

Much better, right?!
